Finally back in Brisbane after a short holiday in Melbourne to catch up with my parents and some friends studying over there. But I’ll be heading off to Fraser Island in a couple of hours time to spend what’s left of my term break.

Will bring more updates when I get back on Sunday.

It was refreshing to see the city sights of Melbourne once again. And this time, it’s with my parents. And so, we had a fruitful day together shopping around the city before sending them back to their hotel to have a good night’s rest.

Well, it’s be another 3 months before I see them again. But oh well, time will fly…

Hey mates, I’m currently in Melbourne spending the 1st half of my term break with my parents. Unlike the previous time, it’s much warmer as it’s only approaching autumn. But as always, Melbourne is infamous for being known as the city that experiences four seasons in a day. *shrugs*

Yes, I finally got to meet up with my parents after a while and I just joined them for their optional tour to the Puffing Billy ride. It was really a good experience to sit on a steam train. And with the company of your parents, it’s a big plus.

It was great to catch up with my parents after a while but they’ll be flying back to Singapore on Wednesday while I’ll depart back to Brisbane on Thursday. It’s going to be nearly 3 months before we get to see each other again. Sigh!

But but, I bet there’s going to more fun and excitement coming my way during the 3 remaining months in Brisbane especially so since I’m going to Fraser Island on Friday! As much as I would like to go back home, I’m focusing on enjoying myself in a foreign land and learning to be more independent. And I know that my parents would be proud that I can manage my own life.

It’s been some time since I’ve updated this blog. So, here’s a pretty long entry in an attempt to summarise what I’ve been up to these few days.

First of all, I went to the Brisbane Powerhouse again to view the compulsory performance, Kommer, for KTB204. It was relatively engaging but I’m dreading the process of writing a 2000 word performance analysis.

Yeah and on Saturday, Joseph, Shintaro, Yasu and I went to Lone Pine Sanctuary to visit the animals (again for me). It was pretty boring so we left earlier to have a dip in the lagoon at Southbank. And yes, though it was hot that day, the water was freezing and it didn’t help that there were pretty strong winds on that day. To add to the problem, the lagoon is just beside the Brisbane River. So, you get the idea now…

But that’s not all! The next day, we went to Surfers Paradise once more to catch some sunlight. Just look at how beautiful the beach is!

Finally a successful attempt

I never thought that I would feel so touched personally by reading a recommended text for KTB206.

I feel so encouraged by Kazuo Ohno’s firm belief that you can make an impact in the arena of performance even as a Christian. At the age of 101, he’s still shining so brightly for God. Even though he can’t perform Butoh any longer, he still imparts his valuable knowledge through his writings and classes.

His book was secular but had so many references to God and he didn’t bother to hide his faith. Indeed, he was hoping that people would come to know God as they researched on Butoh. And being a Butoh master himself, many would turn to his material. Simply awesome! One day, I would do the same as well!

I’ve found another person whom I can truly respect 100%…
